A more hollowed lightweight and super resonant Signature GTO with European Spruce and Flame/Ripple Maple.
Rob Luft is an award-winning 31-year-old jazz guitarist from London whose virtuosity has been compared to that of six-string legends John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola & Paco De Lucia.
Rob has collaborated on many records including Elina Duni, John Surman Quartet, Byron Wallen’s Four Corners & the Iain Ballamy Quintet. Rob’s has had 3 of his own Albums released on Edition Records, The Rise, Life is the Dancer & Dahab Days. His new Album is due to be released on ECM Records Spring 2026.

THE LUTHIER
The son of a gentleman racing driver and musician, James Collins grew up fascinated by fast cars and beautiful guitars.
Following a career in the recording industry James decided to follow his passion for guitars by studying at the renowned Galloup School of Luthiery in Michigan USA before becoming an accredited repair technician for Gibson Guitars.
Inspired as much by the classic automotive designs such as the Jaguar E-Type, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ford GT40 and Porsche 959 as the Gibson ES 335, Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster, James Collins Guitars was founded in 2016 and offers a modern take on classic designs.
James Collins Guitars are bespoke creations with each neck being carved on an individual basis. James guides his clients through a curated selection of exotic woods such as cocobolo, ziricote, redwood, and figured ebony as well as classic choices of Mahogany, spruce and figured maple.
Hardware is of the highest quality and the pickups can be specified by the client or hand wound and voiced in-house to suit the guitar by OGEE pickups.
Each James Collins instrument is entirely handmade in East Sussex UK
Pickups
Ollie Goward started winding pickups in 2018 and discovered a love for it!
Everything from the first few winds to the feel of the hair-thin wire gliding through my fingers as it winds around the coil, to those first notes heard in sublime clarity, brings me joy and I have been toying and experimenting ever since.
In late 2022 Ogee Pickups was setup.
Olly hand winds all of our pickups including Rob Luft’s custom Speakeasy’s.
