The James Collins GTO model features a compact, hollowed double cutaway body of book-matched Honduran mahogany with a carved top of a select wood of your choice. We have made GTOs with redwood, cocobolo, ziricote, spruce and even ebony tops. Each GTO model features our “Crescent” F hole.
The neck – which joins the body at the 18th fret for better high-note access – is made of mahogany with a laminated stringer running the length of the instrument. We have used ebony, rosewood, bog oak and ziricote for fretboards with great results. Each fretboard features our “Purity” sine wave inlay.
This guitar is a perfect blank canvas for electronics – from twin humbucker, P90 combinations to full coil taps. We prefer to use custom OGEE Speakeasy pickups custom wound to suit the voice of each guitar.
