We are currently making a James Collins GTO model for a client who requested that we use oak from his holiday home garden!

As a rule we don’t usually agree to build with wood that we haven’t sourced ourselves. However, once we had had the chance to appraise this beautiful – several hundred year old timber, we agreed that it would make a spectacular guitar.

Oak is a beautiful wood that has been neglected by the guitar luthier community as it can be tricky to season and work with. However in this case the results have been worth it.

We are looking forward to seeing this under the finish!
